Gone are the days of the poky station wagon. Now, the Volvo V60 Cross Country with a 2.0 turbo-charged four-cylinder delivers 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission lets you enjoy pushing the RPM a bit so you can really see all that the Cross Country can do. Volvo puts front-wheel drive in the Cross Country Momentum and R-Design, and includes standard all-wheel drive in the T5 trim.

Volvo also offers the V60 with a plug-in hybrid that can deliver up to 22 miles of electric-only driving. The front-wheel drive versions of the Cross Country get an EPA-estimated fuel economy 23/34 MPG, while the all-wheel drive models get a slightly lower fuel economy of 22/31 MPG.

Stylishly Adept Interior and Exterior

The interior and exterior are impressive on all trim levels. The exterior of all trim levels features 18-inch alloy wheels. The tailpipes on the Momentum model are covered with chrome sleeves, while the other trim levels have them integrated into the body. All trim levels have leather upholstery, while the upgraded trims have higher-end Nappa leather on supportive seats. Trim levels all have attractive inlays that range from lime wood, metal mesh, and driftwood designs.

The large station wagon has more than 50 cubic feet of cargo space and a two-zone climate control system. The rear seat folds down for even more cargo space when needed. The comfortable front seats have heating, memory controls, and lumbar support. All models come with a panoramic sunroof as well as the iconic Volvo logo on the front grille.

Volvo has been focusing on safety for decades. The Swedish automaker loads the V60 with Blind Spot Monitoring, Intelligent Driver Assist for Pedestrians, Cross-Traffic Alert, 360° bird's eye parking view, cloud-based road information, and more. It comes with Road Sign Information, Lane-Keep Assist, and Oncoming Lane Mitigation. Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist come standard, as well as a Park Assist Camera and Rear Park Assist.
